We are officially two weeks away from Greater IC’s Annual Meeting, our largest event and a celebration of what our businesses, community partners, and many volunteers have accomplished this past year. This year’s meeting is shaping up to be another great one. Here are five reasons to get excited – and purchase your ticket if you haven’t yet.
- Our speaker, Dr. Peter Kaboli. Dr. Kaboli is a nationally recognized physician, researcher and health care leader serving as the Executive Director of the Veterans Health Administration Office of Rural Health and Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. His impressive credentials are matched by his care for the community, and he’ll be sharing his Iowa story, his work providing health care to rural communities, and how we all can help people find their place in our community.
Dr. Kaboli is a dynamic speaker (just ask the members of Congress he’s testified before), and Iowa-native hailing from Dennison, and a major Iowa women’s basketball fan. I’m confident you’ll enjoy his presentation.
- Our new community video. It takes a lot of guts to be first. It’s hard work, and it’s risky. This community knows a thing or two about being first, and we’re excited to showcase some of those firsts in a brand-new video. Be ready to be inspired as we highlight how our community is committed to something greater.
- Updates on Greater IC’s major initiatives. We’ll be featuring several of our “Coalitions in Action,” including work on the emerging aerospace industry cluster, Strategic Investment Districts, and new relocation program in partnership with University of Iowa Health Care. Come see what we’ve been working on and how you can get involved.
- A special announcement. We’re bringing back a community tradition, and it’s going to be FUN. Annual Meeting attendees will be the first to know the details.
- The people. Spend time with colleagues, meet new people, and connect with other community members. The room will be filled with the people who are investing locally, sharing their time and talents, and moving the Greater Iowa City area forward. We’d love to see you there, too.
