Greater Iowa City, Inc. hosts A Toast to Business: a celebration dedicated to recognizing the businesses, leaders, and organizations that are driving growth, innovation, and impact across our region. While many events celebrate milestones, A Toast to Business is about celebrating momentum and impact. This event honors the businesses investing in workforce development, breaking down barriers, creating opportunities, and strengthening our regional economy. As Greater IC’s annual business awards celebration, the event honors excellence across Johnson County and beyond. Through local nominations, we recognize those who go above and beyond to make our region a stronger place to live, work, and do business. From emerging leaders to established organizations, the event highlights the people and companies shaping the future of our business community.
Last year’s A Toast to Business brought together business leaders, investors, partners, and community champions for an evening centered on connection and recognition. Award recipients represented a diverse cross-section of industries and impact areas, showcasing the depth of talent and leadership within Greater Iowa City. The event served as a reminder that when businesses succeed, our entire community benefits.
A Toast to Business 2026 will take place this spring on Wednesday, April 29th at The Graduate – Iowa City from 4:30pm–6:30pm, bringing the business community together once again for an evening dedicated to recognition and connection.
This year’s awards are organized across four distinct pillars that reflect the full spectrum of business excellence in our region. Business Impact honors organizations driving growth and long-term success through awards such as the Roots, Small Business, Spirit of Rural Prosperity, and Economic Growth Awards. Business Leadership celebrates strategic vision and collaboration through the Unity Builder and Artisan Innovation Awards. Business Education & Partnerships recognizes those investing in future talent through the Trade Builder and Youth Engagement Awards. And our Greater IC Investor Awards highlight the dedicated investors shaping our region’s future, including Ambassador Spirit, Investor of the Year, Emerging Investor of the Year, and Council Impact Awards.
